Could Dental Bonding Banish Blemishes?

Posted .

Do you have a tooth that has been damaged or is discolored? Are you looking for a way to fix it that may be more affordable than some other options? We are happy to offer dental bonding, so named because the material actually bonds to your tooth, to our patients to help restore their smile.

The material used in dental bonding is a composite resin that may be polished and shaped to blend in with the teeth surrounding it. This therapy may often be used for cosmetic purposes because it can cover blemishes, it can also be used to close small gaps between teeth or to alter the shape of a tooth.

Our dentists, Drs. Beck and Beck, can use a guide to help them select a shade of resin that best matches your tooth. Then they may etch your tooth, ever so slightly, to create a rougher surface. A light coating of a liquid can be applied that may help the bonding material stick and, when the tooth is adequately prepared, the resin can be applied, shaped, smoothed and hardened with a light or laser.
